I received a message to write about hope. Hope? So, I have been thinking about it for awhile and this is what I have come up with.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines hope as “to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen or be true.” Sounds like the basis for the law of attraction, but it still has an underlying feeling that it might not happen. We hope it will happen. We are hoping for the outcome. We have hope that it will go the way we want. Yet, hope keeps us going during difficult times. It has been the drive for change for centuries. Without hope, we might fall into despair.

The universal laws are working all the time, if we acknowledge them or not. What we send out vibrationally, we get back, so we want it to be good. That is a very simplistic definition of the law of attraction. The universe is vibrating energy. We are energy. We are part of the universe. All one, connected, tapped into the same source. We want to send out the best vibration we can to receive the best vibrational experiences possible and that begins with hope. Let hope pull you out of the negative feelings so you may vibrate at a higher level, which then allows more positive to come in. Hope can be a tool to allow a little light to peak in when there does not seem to be any chance of a full sun experience.

Let’s take this a step further. Thoughts and feelings are vibrations. That is why hope is so important when we are feeling down. Changing our thoughts to more hopeful ones will begin to raise our vibration. However, to truly raise our vibration for the best change, we need to feel that it is, not hope it is. As I wrote earlier, hope has an underlying feeling that it might not come true.

Do this exercise. Think about something that you really want in your life. It can be anything from a new car to true happiness. Close your eyes and think about it in terms of hope. I’m hoping… I really hope I… Feel what that feels like in your body for a minute. Now, switch to thinking that it is already a truth, that what you want is, now in this moment. Did you feel a subtle shift? The wishing, wanting, hoping shifted to a feeling of joy around whatever you thought about. It is a feeling of confidence. That is where we want to be as much as possible.

So hoping is not bad or wrong. It is a very important step to living a joyous and happy life. Once you can feel the happiness through hope, try to switch it to being your truth. The law of attraction is always working to give you what you want. If you can make that small adjustment from hope to is in your thinking, even if it is not part of your physical reality at the moment, it will more easily become your reality in the future.
